About Masika Akilah Ray
God is My Source and What Qualifies Me
"The Holy Spirit guides me, but my experience grounds me. I hold a Master's in Education and a lifelong commitment to learning, but my most valuable lessons have come from the people of Texas. I've faced adversity and emerged stronger, and I understand the struggles many Texans face. I'm committed to listening to your needs and developing policies that truly serve you. I believe in truth, compassion, and the power of community. I'm ready to be a voice for the people."

How Do Voters Know They Can Trust Me?
"I've never backed down from a challenge. I've faced discrimination and injustice head-on, always guided by my faith and a deep sense of purpose. I'm not afraid to speak truth to power, and I have a track record of fighting for others. My memoir, I Am Summoned to Testify, details how I've turned personal hardship into a commitment to advocacy. I'm a woman of action and integrity, and I'll bring that same dedication to serving the people."

Our Veterans
They served us. Now it’s our turn.
As your future Congresswoman for Texas District 1, I will fight for:
-
Timely VA healthcare access
-
Local mental health support
-
Job placement programs
-
Stable housing for every veteran
No veteran should be left behind.
Masika Akilah Ray — Standing with our heroes.
“My East Texas roots run deep, and so does my respect for our veterans. If you wore the uniform, you deserve more than praise; you deserve action. I’m fighting for healthcare access, mental health support, jobs, and housing for every veteran in our community.”

My Moral Values
I strive every day to remain faithful to my Christian beliefs by dying to myself and giving in to the Holy Spirit. Though I am not perfect, I do my best to embody the Fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These values guide my decisions and shape my vision for a more just, compassionate society.

What Makes Me the Best Candidate
"I'm a straight shooter, and I believe honesty is the foundation of trust. As a teacher, I learned that open communication, even when difficult, builds stronger relationships and leads to better outcomes. It's not about sugarcoating; it's about being truthful and supportive. That's the approach I'll bring to public service."
