I hear your concern

In response to my being a “Disciple of Christ” and why my “LOVE for YOU (EVERYONE) is INCLUSIVE, not exclusive”. I truly value your perspective. I WILL represent ALL of East Texas, not just one group.
After what happened to me in 2022, I became overly zealous about my faith because of what I had experienced. I will try to tone it down "some." Please know that I do not think I am better than anyone; that is the point. I recognize that I am humble in spirit, meek, and aware of my role in serving. I assure you, I am not a pushover, but I am here to meet your needs with love. I genuinely “believe I can be a blessing to many”, as I have prayed this prayer for years.
I want to clarify that while I speak openly about my personal faith, I am not campaigning to impose religion or legislate belief. (I’m truly pissed off about the 10 Commandments being in school because I know what they are doing, and I, too, believe in the separation of church and state.) My faith informs my values, like justice, compassion, humility, and service, but those values are universal and guide me to care for everyone, regardless of faith, background, or personal beliefs.
I will fight for policies that protect every person’s dignity, whether it’s healthcare, fair wages, voting rights, equality under the law, reproductive rights, or the right to love who you love.
I hear your concern about divisiveness, and I want you to know: I am running to unite, not divide. My promise is to serve all East Texans, Christian or not, with the same respect and commitment.
Thank you again for raising this concern. These kinds of conversations make us stronger, and I welcome them.
Love you,
Masika
