Neighbors,
Today, my girls and I want to begin with gratitude. 💜
🙏🏾 Thank you to the 5,136 voters and supporters who believed in me, prayed for me, encouraged me, and stood beside me in this race. Your support means more to me than any election result ever could.
Although I lost this election, I know I am in good company, because throughout Scripture, truth and righteousness have often walked a difficult road.
📖 The number 5,000 carries powerful meaning in the Bible.
🍞 Matthew 14Jesus fed 5,000 people with five loaves and two fish.When God is involved, what seems small can feed multitudes. Faith multiplies what the world believes is not enough.
✨ Acts 4:4After the apostles boldly preached the truth of Christ, about 5,000 people believed. Even in the face of persecution and opposition, truth still reached thousands.
💔 Yet the Bible reminds us that Jesus Himself was rejected by the world.
📖 John 1:11"He came unto his own, and his own received him not."
Rejection is not always a sign of failure.Sometimes it is simply the cost of standing in truth.
⚖️ Scripture also teaches us something important:
Humility is the opposite of pride.
Pride seeks power and recognition. I, I, I, me, me, me, service that serves me.🤲 Humility seeks service and obedience.
That is why this campaign has always stood on the principle of Humility in Strength.
💪🏾 True strength does not come from titles, money, organizations, or popularity.True strength comes from serving others with a humble heart.
⚔️ And we must always remember something important:
📖 Ephesians 6:12"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
The real battle has never been between neighbors, parties, or candidates.
The real battle is spiritual.
It is a battle for truth, justice, compassion, and the soul of our communities.
💜 So today I do not stand discouraged.I stand grateful.
🙏🏾 Grateful for the 5,136 voices who stood up for servant leadership.🙏🏾 Grateful for the opportunity to speak truth.🙏🏾 Grateful for the reminder that God often begins great works with faithful minorities.
Just as Jesus fed 5,000,And just as 5,000 came to believe,
I believe God can take even a small beginning and multiply it into something greater.
May we all continue to walk forward with Humility in Strength.
